Happy birthday to Pike’s Peak

NORTH America’s most visited mountain, second most visited mountain in the world and Colorado’s 31st highest peak out of 54 is celebrating its 150th birthday this year!

The birthday is to commemorate the anniversary of the Pike’s Peak or ‘Bust Gold’ Rush in 1859
The 14,110 foot Pike’s Peak will be the focus of a 10-month celebration of this fascinating period of American history shown through historic artefacts, photographs, documents and the true stories of the men – including  Buffalo Bill Cody - women, and children who travelled to the Pike’s Peak region to seek their fortune.
