Monster musical heads for Hollywood

UNIVERSAL Studios Hollywood's newest major attraction, Creature from the Black Lagoon - The Musical, featuring all original songs and Broadway-level production values and spectacular stage effects, is due to open as a stage production this spring. The musical, which runs for around 25 minutes, is drawn from Universal's crypt of classic monsters. While based on the original screenplay, the story is updated to emphasize romance and a bit of comic relief.

Audiences will be immersed in a strange and menacing Amazon environment, enveloped within the exotic sounds and scents of the jungle, with ‘state-of-the-art stagecraft, acrobatic choreography and hilarious, toe-tapping music and dazzling production numbers’.
